FAQs

What's better, a paper straw or a biopolymer straw?
Biopolymer straws are made from renewable resources of corn, are commercially compostable and are free from BPAs, phthalates and other plasticizers. Unlike paper straws, they do not get soggy or have a poor texture – they look and feel like plastic straws. Paper straws may contain PFAS and carcinogenics and may not be compostable. They also require more energy and resources to manufacture than plastic straws.
How are your compostable straws different from others on the market?

The resin we use to manufacture our straws is made from high-quality plant materials. Our straws are proudly made in the USA. Strong and robust – they look and feel just like plastic straws but are certified commercially compostable. Our straws are also available in heat resistant, suitable for cold and hot drinks (up to 176°F/ 80°C).

How much do your compostable straws cost?

We have a variety of compostable straws that come in different sizes, lengths, colors and with heat resistant properties. Contact our sales team for specific pricing inquiries and to see how affordable our straws are at sales@evanesce.com.

Why choose compostable biopolymer straws?

When it comes to eco-friendly straws, you may be tempted to choose paper straws. But paper straws have their limitations. They tend to get soggy, may contain unwanted chemicals and may not be recyclable. Our superior quality plant-based biopolymer straws look and feel like plastic but are commercially compostable.
